Book 76 "The Awakening" by Kelley Armstrong

I've had this book for awhile, but finally got a chance to read it. =)
"The Awakening" by Kelley Armstrong. It's from her Darkest Powers Series. It's about 4 teenagers running from the Edison Group. All 4 of the teens have supernatural powers. Chloe Saunders is a necromancer, Simon is a Sorcerer, Derek is a werewolf and Tori is a Witch.
I won't go much into detail because I'll give too much away. Chloe is the main character. She's the one we're following in the book. The first book "The Summoning" is when she discovered something was special with her. In this book, she's trying to learn more about her powers.
The next book to the series comes out next year. The teens are still running from the bad guys and hopefully the next book it will go more into detail about Derek's and Simon's father.
Well it's back to work for me tomorrow, so this most likely will be my last book for this year.
I read 76 books since May of this year. I wonder how many books I'll be able to read next year. My goal is to read 100 by May of 2010 and I think I can do it. =) I think I'm just going to keep counting and not have a goal set from now on.
Night everyone!

Book 75 "Micah" by Laurell K. Hamilton

245 pages is nothing to me =) Especially when I have time to spare and I'm a very fast reader.
I finished reading "Micah" by Laurell K. Hamilton, just a few minutes ago. It was a small book compared to the last book "Incubus Dreams". This book was mostly about just Anita and Micah. I finally learned more about, Micah. Anita also finally had some alone time with just her and Micah.
Now I'm going to wait until the next book comes in the mail: "Danse Macabre". I can't wait to read that one.
Sorry for the short blog, but I'm off to spend the rest of my remaining freedom with my Family. It's back to work tomorrow briefly, to check off of leave and listen to some training lectures.
Night everyone!
XOXO,

Book 74 "Incubus Dreams" by Laurell K. Hamilton

I promised last night I would blog about my 74th book "Incubus Dreams". What a Yummy book! When I say Yummy, I mean the details of the scenes that Anita went through with some of her guys. =) Laurell K. Hamilton knows how to write love scenes. This book happened to have 82 chapters to it and about 600 pages. It is the biggest of the series so far. I started reading it last weekend. I was busy this past week, so I had to read a few chapters at a time whenever I got free time. I finally devoted yesterday to finishing the book.
I'm more in love with the character, Nathaniel now. It's about time Anita recognized him more than merely a friend. He is such a sweet and loving guy to her. Also, it seems that Richard finally and stated the obvious that he was jealous whenever Anita was with another man and he wanted to be with her again and have her as his Lupa to his pack. Although, he let her know he would be seeing other women since she is seeing other men. I still don't like Richard and wish he would just stay out of Anita's life. Anita also had to patch up her friendship with her bestfriend Ronnie Sims in this book, while also dealing with a serial killer or killers who are murdering strippers in St. Louis.
Anita's job is never done it seems. The poor girl is always having to deal with 10 problems at the same time.
I'm curious on what the next book, "Micah", will be about. It's the shortest book so far that I've seen in the series.
Oh and I was beyond excited when the author put a sneak peek to the next novel to the series, "Flirt" on her website. Yes!!!! Although, I don't plan on reading the sneak peek until after I'm done reading the last book, "Skin Trade". "Flirt" gets releases in February. I cannnot wait!!
Well, it's my last day of vacation and I'm going to spend it with my Princess. Although, I still technically get two more days off since my section doesn't go back to work until the 30th. =) I love it!

I just finished my 74th book, "Incubus Dreams" by Laurell K. Hamilton and what a Yummy book this turned out to be. I'll blog a entry about it tomorrow once I get a chance, but for now I'm heading to bed. Night everyone! Just one more day of vacation for me and it's back to a rotating work schedule. Ugh! Just 18 more months of the Navy. :)

Merry Christmas

Photobucket

Just wanted to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas". I won't be on much tomorrow since I will be busy watching my daughter's reaction in the morning when she opens all her Christmas Presents from Santa and also helping the Hubby cook in the kitchen. =)

Hope everyone has an Amazing Christmas tomorrow.

My Bedroom Looks like a Library. =)

I finally put together my bookcase I bought the beginning of this month and may I say, I need another bookcase. =) I have too many books for one bookcase, I guess. I'm glad I have my Amazon Kindle now though...but it seems I'm still managing to buy books. I have to complete the series I already have books for, which Hubby doesn't understand. I'm glad I finally put the bookcase together though. I had books everywhere in the house and nowhere to put them. Now their organized on the Bookcase by the author. =) Of course my Top shelf is filled with the Twilight Series, Vampire Academy Series and House of Night Series. My favorite series that I read first. =)
Looks like I'll be sneaking off to buy another bookcase though because I still have books that aren't in order and are just in my Barnes and Noble reusable bag.
I'll try to take a picture of the bookcase once I get a chance. Life has been hectic for me and now being on Vacation it's even more hectic. =)
My room though does look like a Library and it will look even more like a Library once I get another Bookcase. Poor Hubby will be overrun with books in the bedroom.
If you need to check out a book, guess you can check with me first and see if I have it. =)
I'm FranJessca, the Librarian. =)

Book 73 "Savor Me Slowly" by Gena Showalter

I began reading "Savor Me Slowly" at work. Whenever there's nothing to do, I tend to read one of my books at work. I ended up finishing it this morning after having 13 hours of sleep. =) Yes, 13 hours of sleep. I was up for 24 hours yesterday. I'm now officially on "Vacation" until the morning of the 28th. I needed a break from work for a bit. 12 hour shifts tends to bother this 26 year old a little more than it did 3 years ago when I was working 12 hour shifts underway.
"Savor Me Slowly" is actually the 3rd book to the Alien Huntress Series. "Redhanded" and "Blacklisted" were more for teens, but I didn't want to not read those books too.
"Savor Me Slowly" is about Mishka Le'Ace, who is half-human, half-machine. She was made 50 something years ago to be a Killer and Seducer by her creators. The book is also about Jaxon Tremaine who she is sent to rescue from Aliens that abducted him. Jaxon is a A.I.R. agent. He is keeping a secret about another alien species and trying to find out more about them. Jaxon ends up falling in love with Mishka Le'Ace and so does she. They are thrown into several obstacles together. One of them being Jaxon's friends not trusting Le'Ace since Mia Snow ends up showing up in this book too and doesn't like Le'Ace, since she knew her when she was training to be a agent in camp and Le'Ace was one of her instructors.
The book tended to be dry at first to me, but by the last chapters, I couldn't put it down. =) Mia Snow is still my favorite character from the series so far.
I'm waiting for the 4th book to come in from Half.com. I didn't order it on my Kindle because I wanted to finished getting the books to the series for my soon to be "Bookcase" which I have to put together while I'm on leave. I have so many books that their taking over my house just a bit.
Well, I'm off to read some of my other book I've been reading "Incubus Dreams" from the Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton and let my Hubby sleep since he let me sleep for so long. I love my Hubby so much. He takes care of me after a long day at work. =)

Book 72 "Cerulean Sins" by Laurell K. Hamilton

Finished reading "Cerulean Sins" by Laurell K. Hamilton tonight at work. =)
Wow!!! I cannot believe what Anita did in this book. I definitely wouldn't of done it. I do love Asher though, and I wouldn't want him leaving or getting stuck with a Vampire "Beotch" again. LOL
I wanted to go into the book again and slap Richard. He is such a "Jerk" to Anita. He doesn't like being a werewolf...well, he has to get over it already. He doesn't act like also what Anita is doing, but he broke up with her, so why does he care. Geez...he's a pain in the butt in this book, just like he was in the last book.
Oh and let me say...that thank goodness...Jason took one for the team this time. I have to say that was the best part of the book. =)
I won't go into anymore detail of this book. I'm going to start reading the next book tonight since I have to stay up all night and sleep all day tomorrow. I have to be at work at 6pm tomorrow. Then on Monday morning I'm on leave for 7 days. Looking forward to being home for Christmas.
Well, night everyone...I'm off to spend some time with my family, watch my shows I missed the past few days and then later on read some of my new book "Incubus Dreams" by Laurell K. Hamilton (12th book to the Anita Blake Series)
XOXO,
FranJessca

Book 71 "Redhanded" by Gena Showalter

I accidentally read out of order in the "Alien Huntress Series". Oops...my bad! =)
I ended up reading "Redhanded" today and just realized once I was reading it that I should've read it before "Blacklisted". Oh well, I didn't know. I read the back of "Blacklisted" and thought it was more interesting. "Redhanded" proved to be just as good though.
It's about Phoenix and Ryan Stone. =) Phoenix is a "former Onadyn addict" and she is trying to prove to her Mom that she's not using anymore, but her Mom doesn't trust her. Phoenix gets sent to a Reform Camp. Well, she thought was a Reform Camp, but turns out to be the A.I.R. Training Camp. She has been chosen to train due to her skills to showed out when she was hanging out with her friends. She ends up meeting Ryan Stone and falls in love with him at first sight and vice versa. Ryan tries to hide his feelings for her, but can't. When Phoenix is in A.I.R. Camp, she comes to find out Ryan is a Agent for the A.I.R. and is one of her Instructors. She knows it's forbidden to be with an Instructor and so does Ryan.
I could go on and on, but I don't want to ruin the book for anyone who hasn't read it. Erik Trinity aka Erik Troy from "Blacklisted" is in "Redhanded". It's when he got chose to be a Agent too. That's how I eventually found out I read the book out of order.
I'm going to be reading "Cerulean Sins" again since I took a two day break from the Anita Blake Series. Well, actually I didn't. I was reading the book too while reading the Alien Huntress Series.
What can I say I'm a book addict. I love reading. =)
Well it's off to bed for me since I have work in the morning.
Just 4 more days until I'm on vacation. I can't wait to have a week break from work and I can spend Christmas with my Family. I'm also going to head up to Maryland to see my family there. I've missed them. Night everyone!
XOXO,
FranJessca

Book 70 "Blacklisted" by Gena Showalter

When I said I was going to take a break from the Anita Blake Series, I kind of meant it. =) Instead I ended up reading two books again this time. I'm still reading the 11th book to the Anita Blake Series though. I just finished "Blacklisted" by Gena Showalter. It's kind of from her Alien Huntress Series...but it's written more for Teens.
My favorite character from the series showed up in this book though: Mia Snow. She was in "Awaken me Deeply" I love that book.
This book was about Camille Robins and Erik Troy. Camille has a huge crush on Erik Troy and when she finally gets his attention, she is thrown into a world of criminal actions with Erik. She never expected Erik to be bad. The A.I.R. is after them in the book. Camille ends up finding out the truth of what's going on and she backs Erik 100% on his decisions that he has made.
It was a great book to read to take a break from the Anita Blake Series...but now is the time to get back to Anita Blake. I'm reading "Cerulean Sins" now and loving it!

Book 69 "Narcissus in Chains" by Laurell K. Hamilton

I seriously had a problem putting down "Narcissus in Chains" by Laurell K. Hamilton. The book had me enthralled from the moment I read the first page. The new characters that were introduced in this book to Anita were different and definitely amazing. Anita ends up in a bigger mess when it comes to her love life then her previous books, but the mess is actually caused my Jean-Claude her vampire lover. Something happens in this book that pushes Richard away from Anita. I'm really starting to despise him. I really don't think Richard is Anita's one true love. I think he is beyond annoying. I really wish Anita would just go for either Nathaniel or maybe even Jason. There's a reason why I want her to go with Jason though and this book shows the reason. =) I'm absolutely in love with Asher though. Ever since he came into Anita's life and back into Jean-Claude's life, I've been fascinated with him. I'm looking forward to the next book because it goes more into detail about him, but as of right now I'm taking a break from the Anita Blake Series. I have other books I need to read to. I have 7 more books to read in the Anita Blake Series before the 18th book comes out in February. I'm going to read two different books from a different series before I read the 11th book to the series. I need a break from Anita and her lovers for a little bit. I have plenty of time to catch up with this series once I'm done reading other books. I finally managed to get myself a book shelf to put all my books on. It will just take awhile to assemble it since I'm beyond busy for the next 8 days. I'm starting 12 hour shifts tomorrow. Ugh!! I thought I left ship life back in 2007 when I worked 12 hours when I was underway, but my command I'm at is like ship life again. Oh well...just 18 1/2 more months and I'm done with Navy life. =)
Well...I'm off to spend sometime with my family before I go to work this evening to see my other family...my amazing co-workers who keep me laughing and smiling at work. =)

Book 68 "Obsidian Butterfly" by Laurell K. Hamilton

It has taken me awhile to finish "Obsidian Butterfly"...not only because it was a longer book then the others, but because I've been so busy...I haven't had any real time to devote to reading except maybe a chapter or two here and there. It was frustrating not being able to finish this book in two-three days which what I was hoping for. Since life is about to get even more mad crazy for me I guess I can say I won't read 10 books this month. December is always a busy month to me. Although, it will never rack up to be like July though. July is so overwhelming, I can't even remember most of what happened this past July. LOL That is how busy it got for me.
Now onto explaining what I thought about "Obsidian Butterfly" It's the 9th book to the Anita Blake Series and I have to say it's not my favorite at all. It moslyt goes into detail finally about Edward, Anita's somewhat assassin friend who happens to pop into her life whenever he needs to kill somebody or should I say something. Well, this book finally goes into his life and how one of his "Lives'" lives basically. He's also known as a alias "Ted Forrester" which he plays mostly in this book. She ends up with "Ted" in New Mexico because she owed him a favor and when he called, she didn't ask any questions, she just went to see him and find out what he needed. She asked the questions once she got there. While she's in New Mexico, Anita cuts off ties with Jean-Claude and Richard which is hard for her because she is not used to her celibacy at first. Every new guy she meets in this book, she has a reaction to and she ends up comparing the guys she meets with her two boys at home in St. Louis. Anita and Edward "Ted" end up in two different difficult situations in the book, which they have to figure out how to correct.
The book goes on and on it seems, and to me it was really dry compared to the other books I read in the series so far. I was really disappointed in this book. =( I thought it could've of used something more to it. Oh well...I'm glad I read it though and I can move onto the next book. The next book what I've been told, is really GOOD! =)
So for now though, I'll wait until this evening to start reading the next book. I'm going to relax for a bit since it's my first off day from work. =)
XOXO,
FranJessca

Tim Tebow <3

Gotta love people who hate on people just because the way they are. I guess people are against Christians for some reason. They don't like how Tim Tebow is. They are against him saying "God Bless" every time he's interviewed. How ignorant of people to say harsh things about him just because of that. He is just like Danny Wuerffel, the QB who played for the Gators back in 1996. If you have something against people who are like Tim Tebow, then you have something against me too. He was raised that way, you can't change people like him. Don't be hating just because he played his hardest the 4 years he was the University of Florida. So he cried, he has a heart for the game unlike other certain players. He kept a promise to his team, and now he thinks he failed. In my eyes, he didn't. He will forever be a great Football Player, and that is why people hate him. The media thought of him highly and still does. They saw him as something different. Someone who they haven't seen ever in College Football. Someone who changed everything. I have respect for Tim Tebow. He did make changes and I'm proud of him. People who hate on him, should hate on the Media. The Media are the ones who believed in him. People are pissed because they were sick of hearing about him. There's a reason why Tebow was always talked about and not your QB for your teams. Tim Tebow will never be forgotten. He will always be remembered for what he did. Here's what Tim Tebow accomplished: College awards and honors 2006 season SEC All-Freshman Team SEC Freshman of the Week 2007 season Tim Tebow in 2007Walter Camp Foundation National Offensive Player of the Week Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, three times Davey O'Brien Award winner Heisman Trophy winner Maxwell Award winner Walter Camp Award finalist Sporting News Player of the Year Harley Award winner NCAA QB of the Year ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American football team Manning Award finalist Rivals.com National Offensive Player of the Year Rivals.com SEC Offensive Player of the Year Rivals.com First Team All-SEC First Team All-SEC Coaches Conference football team Associated Press SEC Offensive Player of the Year Associated Press All-SEC First Team Associated Press Player of the Year Listed as an All-American by: Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Walter Camp Football Foundation, Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, CBS Sports, College Football News, Rivals.com, and Scout.com James E. Sullivan Award, awarded to the Nations top amateur athlete Roy F. Kramer SEC Male Athlete of the Year. Third Florida Gator to win this award, Danny Wuerffel (won twice) and Ryan Lochte. ESPY for Best Male College Athlete 2008 season All-America selection by College Football News. Disney Spirit Award ESPY for Best Male College Athlete Heisman Trophy finalist Manning Award winner Maxwell Award winner Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week 2008 SEC Championship Game Most Valuable Player Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year Wuerffel Trophy winner Now tell me what did your fave QB do? Tim Tebow, keep your head held up high. You accomplished so much while you were at UF. You were AMAZING and will FOREVER be the GREATEST Player I ever known.
I will be there with you when you start up your NFL career just like I did with Danny Wuerffel. =)
From one of your Biggest Fans,
FranJessca
P.S. My 4 year old daughter will forever think your playing for the Gators. =) You are the reason why she watched the Gator games.

Thankful for Moving back in 2 years. =)

Okay seriously this Floridian can't handle the cold weather all that well. Give me 70s-80s weather all year around and I'm in HEAVEN. Let me wear sandals and dresses all year, and I'm the happiest woman you'll ever meet. Right now I'm suffering. This wet, cold weather is driving my sinuses crazy. I'm having a hard time adjusting to this dreadful weather. I want to wear my sandals, darnit. Even my 4 year old princess has been arguing about not being able to wear her sandals. Those are her fave shoes to wear. I've been trying to explain to her that it's getting colder so she can't wear her sandals anymore, but of course she's not having it.
At least we have our Cadillac that has heated seats. It's wonderful to have that, this season. I love driving the Caddy in this cold weather. =) At least my butt will be warm when I'm driving. LOL I do miss my remote starter which was in my Honda Civic though. Looks like Hubby and I will getting that installed in our vehicles as soon as we get the chance. =) I was spoiled by my remote starter. We'll hopefully be installing it in my Xterra next year due to the fact we'll be trying for a little one. =) I had the remote starter in my Civic when Alexia was a baby and it was a life savior for me. The car would already be warmed up by the time I got baby Alexia in the car. =) It was GREAT!! I had gotten the remote starter for a birthday gift for me that year and believe me it was the best gift I gave myself.
So for the next two years I'll guess I'll play along with the weather. I'm not used to going from Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring. I'm used to Summer, a little bit of Fall, two weeks of Winter and then right back to Summer. =) That's how the weather was in Florida. I loved it!! I'm so looking forward to being back there. Going to the beach year around, going out on the boat to go fishing, and just enjoying the beauty of Florida.
Let the countdown begin. Just 19 more months until I'm out of the Navy. =) I can't wait!!!
XOXO,
FranJessca

Where did the Year Go?

How come it's December already? It felt like we had just begun 2009. Where has the time gone? This year has flown by quick. It felt like yesterday I was traveling up from Florida and buying our house. Now it's going on 2010. There's only 23 more days until Santa Claus comes. Alexia keeps bugging us that Santa Claus will be here tomorrow with her presents, but we keep having to tell her no, just a little bit longer. We have a very impatient little girl on our hands it seems. LOL This year has been amazing for us. Actually, so many good things have happened I don't know where to begin. Let's just say this is going to be a hard year to top, but I see 2010 being even a little bit more grander than 2009. =) I have 19 more months in the Navy. 19 more months...that's crazy huh. Just yesterday I was staying 2 1/2 years and now it's already close to 1 1/2 years and I'm out. I'm glad this year kind of flew by. The faster I'm out of the Navy, the better. I'm ready to be out and called by my first name, FranJessca, instead of by my last name, Papillion. No one can pronounce my name right at work anyways, so of course their calling me "Pappy". The same nickname my hubby had when he was in and the same name my Father-in-law was called to. It's weird, but it's works better than getting my name butchered. I thought my maiden name was hard to pronounce. LOL What can I say...my name is perfect. =) So what's in store for this month? Lots...it seems. =) I have to work most of it because we're going to 12 hour shifts from Dec 14th-Jan 11th to support people who are taking vacation. I'm taking a week for Christmas so I can be home with my Family and also make a trip to Maryland to visit family up there I haven't seen in two years. I'm ready to see my brother, sister-in-law, nephews, niece, grandma, aunts, and cousins who I haven't seen in awhile. I've missed them. We still have to finish the Christmas tree at home and put up the lights outside, that of course hubby will do since that's his thing, while he leaves the inside to me and Alexia. Well, I'm off to play with my Kindle for a bit. It arrived this afternoon. My husband is amazing. It got me the perfect gift. =) He knows how much I love reading books and now all my books fit on the Kindle. I'm taking it everywhere I go now just like I do my camera. The only place I can't take it, is work since outside electronics are not allowed in the building. =( Oh well, that's when books are perfect. Night everyone! Hope everyone is having a terrific Holiday Season. =) XOXO, FranJessca
