Book 83 "Seduce the Darkness" by Gena Showalter

I just finished reading "Seduce the Darkness" by Gena Showalter. It's the story about Bride who is a vampire and Devyn who is the King of the Targons. Devyn is well-known for having a lot of females. He is basically a ladies man until he meets Bride. Bride is trying to figure out if their any other Vampires like her. She comes across Devyn and is unable to resist him. Devyn is unable to resist Bride too, which he tries everything to get over her, but eventually he finds that she is the one for him.
I loved this book because I got to find out more about Devyn. He was in the 2nd book "Enslave Me Sweetly". He was such a womanizer, which I was surprised in this book, when he had one Vampire that seduced him and that's all it took.
Sorry I would go into more of a review on this book, but I'm all tuckered because of playing out in the snow today. I enjoyed this book very much and I'm looking forward to the next Alien Huntress Series book that will come out later this year. Thanks Gena Showalter, for always surprising me...I love your books!!!

Book 82 "Captivate" by Carrie Jones

Yes, I'm up super late for a Monday. I'm usually in bed by 9 or 10 pm. My shows came on this evening, so I had to stay up and plus, I really wanted to finish my next book. "Captivate" by Carrie Jones, which is the 2nd book to the Need series. Yes, I had a hard time putting this book down. It picked up from the ending of "Need" and I really wanted to finish it.
Zara of course is the main character in this book and she is challenged with alot in this book. One of those challenges she is forced to conquer to save someone's life in the book. I won't go into what happens into the book because I don't want to ruin it. I loved this book though. It introduces two new characters in it. I also cried in certain parts of the book. =( I hate depressing moments in a book, but Carrie Jones made sure to perk me back up at the ending. I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out to this series. I definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves pixies, weres and just plan fantasy. Carrie Jones takes you into a fantasy world, which makes you re-think about "Tinkerbell".
Hope everyone has an amazing week because I know I will...I'm in class for the next 2 1/2 weeks. =) Gotta love being away from work for awhile, sometimes you need a break.

Book 81 "Need" by Carrie Jones

I finished "Need" by Carrie Jones at 1 a.m. this morning. I had a hard time putting down the book. Once I tell myself, I'm going to finish something, I'm going to finish it without any doubt. I only had 80 more pages to read last night. Once I finished the book, I finally told myself, it was time to go to bed. =) "Need" was such a great book and very different from the other ones I've read. It's a YA book and it's about pixies and were's. Zara is forced to live with her Gram up in Maine after her step-father dies from a heart attack in Charleston. Her Mom finds it will be better for her if she's in a different place and atmosphere. Once Zara is there, she feels like she is being followed. Teenage boys are going missing in Bedford, Maine once Zara gets there and she wants to know why. She befriends, Issie, Devyn and falls in love with Nick Colt. =) Eventually Zara finally finds out the truth and at first she doesn't believe it. By the end of the book, she finally accepts everything. I won't tell anymore about the book because I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it. I enjoyed the book very much because it was something different from what I'm used to reading. I love Carrie Jone's writing style. I can't wait to read the next book in the Need Series, "Captivate". =) Hope everyone has an amazing Sunday. XOXO, FranJessca

Book 80 "The Harlequin" by Laurell K. Hamilton

I finished this book yesterday evening. "The Harlequin" is the 15th book to the Anita Blake Series which is written by Laurell K. Hamilton. There's a reason why I love this book. The ending mostly...because Anita finally makes a decision which I which she would've made in Book 2. I also loved this book because Nathaniel is finally showing a different side of himself. He asks something from Anita and at first Anita doesn't know how to respond to it, but at the end of the book, she makes the decision to come to terms for what Nathaniel asked of her. In this book though, Anita, Jean-Claude and even Richard come close to dying. Anita also finds out that the werelions only care about themselves and they break their treaty. I won't go into anymore details of this book...because I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it. I won't it even go over why the book is called "The Harlequin". You'll find out if you read the book. =) I'm onto "Need" by Carrie Jones next since I'm waiting for "Blood Noir" to come in the mail from Half.com. Hope everyone has an amazing Friday. =)

Book 79 "Danse Macabre" by Laurell K. Hamilton

Oh goodness...Oh My! "Danse Macabre" was such a delicious, yummy, mouth-watering book, that I really had a hard time putting it down. In fact I caught myself reading over certain pages just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Laurell K. Hamilton, you have amazed me in this book. I loved every page of it. You made me even LOVE the characters Nathaniel and Asher even more. Those two will always be my FAVE out of all the MEN that Anita is with. Well, actually I do like Micah too. Jason can be annoying at times, but he's growing on me. And I wish Richard would find someone else already and get over himself. I can't really stand him. In this book, Anita is face with "ardeur" challenges which she has to find herself a new pomme de sang candidate since Nathaniel can longer be it since he is her animal to call. She must find a candidate soon because otherwise she will keep hurting her vampire, Damian, who is her vampire servant. Anita also fights off her beasts in this book. She is not a lycanthrope at this time, but she does carry the strains of wolf, wereleopard, lion and an unknown strain that doctors can't determine. Anita has to find herself a werelion candidate also in this book. She almost finds one, but then decides the person her inner lioness wants is not a SMART candidate. There is alot of unfinished business in this book that Anita needs to be fixed later on, I guess.
I loved this book. I won't go into more details because I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it yet. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I already even pre-ordered "Flirt", the 18th book to the series.
Hope everyone has a great evening. I'm going to start reading the next book "The Harlequin".

Book 78 "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater

I just seriously cried. I just got done reading "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater and I literally was bawling at the ending. It took me awhile to finish this book since I rarely had time to read a book the last 4 days, but I'm so glad I finally got to finish it. I have "Shiver" on my Kindle. This is not a book about Vampires...it's about Werewolves...well actually wolves. It's a story about a girl, Grace who is always keeping an eye out on the wolves that are behind her house in the woods. One specific wolf which has beautiful yellow eyes. This wolf saved her life when she was younger. What she doesn't know is that that the wolf is actually a teenage boy who is known as Sam. These wolves change back to their human selves in the summer time and the winter time, they become wolves again. Eventually though, they never change back to their human body. =( Well, the ending made me seriously cry and I'm happy to admit it. I loved the book. It was a different writing style from the other authors I've read. Actually, Maggie has the same idea as J.R. Ward. She goes back and worth with the characters. One chapter it will be Grace and the other chapter it will be Sam. Their the main characters of the story so you get to know their different points of view.
I'm looking forward to the next book coming out this summer since this book left me hanging. "Linger" comes out in the Summertime. I can't wait!
I have found yet another author who I adore and the best thing is, she lives in Virginia. She's supposed to make an appearance in Charlottesville in March, Williamsburg in April and Virginia Beach in October. =) I hope I can make it to one of her book signings.
Well, I'm off to bed for now. My next books I'll be reading (notice I typed books...because I tend to read two at a time nowadays) =) One on my Kindle and other in paperbook form. I'm going to be reading "Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold and also read the next book to the Anita Blake Series with is "Danse Macabre".
Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend! =)

Book 77 "Fallen" by Lauren Kate

I finished my first book for 2010, yesterday. "Fallen" by Lauren Kate, which is my first book in my Amazon Kindle that I finished. Yeah!!!
This book was about Angels this time. The main characters are Lucinda Price and Daniel Grigori. Lucinda Price gets sent to a Reform school which she happens to meet Daniel. The moment she meets Daniel, she feels that she already met him before and she is drawn to him. Daniel though doesn't want anything to do with her. Lucinda will do anything though to get his attention and be apart of his life. The first part of the book goes into detail why Luce ends up at the Reform School and her meeting new friends at the school. She also tends to be put into situations which she needs to find out away to get out of it.
I don't want to ruin the book for anyone. The Sequel to the book is "Torment" which will be out in September of this year. =) I can't wait!!
Well, I'm off to bed since I just worked a 12 hour night shift and have to work another one tonight. Night Everyone! =) So glad I brought in the New Year by reading an amazing book.
