Book 91 "Immortal by Gillian Shields

I finished yet another book for this month. =) "Immortal" by Gillian Shields. I came across it on my Kindle store when I was looking for new books to read. I've had it for awhile, but just now got a chance to read it. I loved the storyline of it since it's totally different from my vampire books I read. It's about a boy wanting to be an immortal and a girl who can help him become immortal. The story is about Evie Johnson and how she comes across Sebastian James when she was on her way to her school at Wlydcliffe.
I had moments where I didn't seem interested in the book, but then the author would surprise me with a twist in the story and I had to read on. I don't rate this book one of my favorites, but I still enjoyed it. I needed a break from vampires and my normal paranormal romance (freakish) for awhile. Now back to my old ways after this book...and I'm going to start reading Kresley Cole's Books now. I can't wait!! I've almost collected her Immortal After Dark Series books. I'm just needing to buy the most recent one. =) I can't wait to indulge in this series. Since one of my favorite authors is Gena Showalter and Gena knows Kresley and loves this series of books...I had to pick up Kresley Cole's books. =)
So I'll start readin my next book this evening, hopefully. I can't wait!!

Book 90 "Hush, Hush" by Becca Fitzpatrick

I found a author, who debuted her first book: Becca Fitzpatrick and boy, is it a hit with me. I just finished reading "Hush, Hush" on my Amazon Kindle. I started reading it yesterday and finished it today. That should narrow it down if I liked it or not, huh? =) It was 400 pages long, as per Amazon.com since I don't own the book in paperback.
It's about Nora Grey...I normal girl...who lives a normal life. She lost her father and her mother works alot of hours and leaves town a lot so they can keep their farmhouse in Maine. She has a crazy, but loving bestfriend Vee whom she tells all her secrets too. Their basically inseparable...until she meets Patch. The mysterious new boy, who she seems drawn to for some reason. She knows in the back in her mind, she shouldn't trust Patch because everything he is...speaks trouble. Unfortunately, though Nora doesn't listen to her head, when it comes to Patch. She finds herself in a lot of trouble in the book. Someone is stalking her and she believes is also trying to kill her. Her bestfriend Vee thinks she's just paranoid and her Mom is never home so Nora can tell her. Nora has to trust in Patch, which she still has trouble in doing.
I loved how every chapter, left you hanging for more. At the ending was a twist though, I wasn't really expecting. Becca definitely had me thinking about else was going to happen.
I'm looking forward to the sequel which comes out this Fall..."Crescendo". I'm wondering what is going to happen next.
As you remember me telling you, I was attempting to read "The Lightning Thief", but I didn't get very far at all with it. I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm into those kinds of books. It's probably a great book, but for me, I'm not into something like that at all. It's just like the Harry Potter Series. I love J.K. Rowling, she's an amazing author. I probably would've love the Harry Potter Series and Olympian Series back when I was 10 years old...but now I'm more into steamy books that have me wondering what's going to happen next...Paranormal Romance and Horror are my favorites right now. I love every author I've read so far. I'm so glad to come across a author who just brought out their first book. I can't wait to read Becca Fitzpatrick's next book and so on and so on. She's become a Favorite to me. =)
Now on to bed with me since I have a lot to tomorrow. I promised myself, I wouldn't try to read another book tonight..we'll see how that goes. =)

Book 89 "Flirt" by Laurell K. Hamilton

Seriously, I should've made a bet with one of my co-workers at work. I told some of my co-workers I could finish a 158 page book within a few hours and I did. =) I love being a FAST reader because it gets me closer to my goal. I love it!!
I just finished reading the lastest book to the Anita Blake Series..."Flirt" by Laurell K. Hamilton. The author even explained how this book came about and where she usually gets her ideas from. Laurell K. Hamilton, you are an inspiration to my writing. I can't wait to read your other series about Meredith Gentry. =) I'm so looking forward to the 19th novel to the Anita Blake Series with is due out in June..."Bullet". I'm not looking forward to though who gets killed in it. Please don't let it be Nathaniel or Jason. I love them both dearly. I'm a little attached to Micah, Anita's other lover that lives with her...but not as much as Nathaniel and Jason. Both of them make me keep reading the books. =) I also adore Jean-Claude. He is really fascinating to me and I really want to know more about him.
So what did I think about "Flirt"...I think it was an amazing book. It was short, but VERY well done!! Anita got introduced to two different dilemmas in the book. I about cried in certain parts of the book because I don't know how Anita could handle it...I wouldn't of been able to. How are you going to protect the ones you love when you've just been kidnapped and you have to obey what the kidnappers say? Every little move could bring the death to one of your loved ones. This book is mostly about the dilemma that Mr. Tony Bennington brings to Anita table. What a heartless man he is. Only caring about himself and what he wants. I could've gone in the book and ripped his throat out. 'I think I may be turning into Anita or even one her friends...a little too much...LOL". What can I say, I've been reading this series since October of last year and I love the characters to these books. I even tend to dream about Anita Blake's world.
Laurell K. Hamilton...I'm so glad you wrote this book. I'm sorry it put a bind on your latest Meredith Gentry book that you were trying to write, but "Flirt" came to mind. Now I know the secret why you were able to do it though and focus on the writings on both the books. ***Music*** is the key. I've read other authors blogs and found out that music can help a writer help.
Now I'm on to deciding what book I need to read next, since I won't get my next Anita Blake fix until June. =( What am I going to do until then? I'm going to pondering over what's going to happen next to Anita Blake, her loves, and her friends.
Oh well, until then...I'm diving back into my Kindle. I've decided I'll read two books from there...whichever keeps my attention most, I'll finish. If the other book doesn't, I'll stop reading it. I decided "Hush Hush" and "The Lightning Thief" will be the books of choice. We'll see which one I finish and which one doesn't add up. I don't think I'm going to like "The Lightning Thief" because it's too much like what "Harry Potter" was too me. I couldn't even read Harry Potter. We'll see though...I have my heart on "Hush Hush".
Onward to reading...but first getting ready to head out the door to one of many doctor appointments for me. Let's hope I finally find out the verdict to my right knee and right femur.
Surgery in the future....most likely.
Have a GREAT day everyone!!
XOXO,
FranJessca

Book 88 "Skin Trade" by Laurell K. Hamilton

I'm just so excited, I can't hide it. =) I finally, finished reading the 17th book to the Anita Blake Series. Now I can move on to the latest book that the author brought out the beginning of this month.
I just finally finished reading "Skin Trade" by Laurell K. Hamilton. I'm so glad I'm done with this book. It was over 486 pages and I'm the happiest woman ever right now. I get to read "Flirt" which is the 18th book to the series and it puts me up to my goal of where I want to be around this time too. Once I read up to 100 books before May, I'm going to start slowing down on reading. I have way too much going on around June and July this year so I won't have much time to read. =( I will most likely have book relapse issues.
So let me go into a little bit detail about what I thought about "Skin Trade". I actually wouldn't rate this book one of my favorites from the series. I'm actually going to rate this book about my 15th favorite of the series. Remember there's 18 books total to the series and I haven't read the 18th one yet. This book didn't have much of it's bang like the rest of them. My most favorite right now is Danse Macabre and 2nd favorite is Blood Noir.
Anita Blake is sent to Las Vegas to solve a paranormal crime caused by Vittorio (The Father of Day), whom we first found out about in "The Harlequin". Anita Blake has to leave behind her loved ones so she can solve this crime. Her Lover, and Master Jean-Claude isn't very happy that she goes alone. She ends up meeting with her fellow Marshall friends, Edward, Olaf and Bernardo. Anita is thrown into a mess with the were-tigers, Master of the City-Las Vegas and his wife and even the city police/detectives. Anita also finds out something new about what is going on with her and why she seems to be falling apart. Anita is also bothered by the "Mother of All Darkness".
I won't get into much detail about the book since I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it. It's not my favorite book, but I did learn a little bit about certain characters....like Olaf...that I really wanted to know about. I'm really curious now to get the Comic Books to the Anita Blake Series so I could learn more about Anita Blake before Guilty Pleasures.
So now I'm onto "Flirt"....I'm so looking forward to reading this book. Once I read this though, I'll have to wait until June when the 19th book comes out. Laurell K. Hamilton, I really hope you didn't kill one of my fave characters in the newest book that you're bringing out. I love Nathaniel and Jason. They will forever be my favorites. I will be totally devastated if one of them is no longer in the series. =(
Onward to my new book. I'll probably finish it in one day. =) It's less than 200 pages.
XOXO,
FranJessca

I think I have a Problem. =)

Hi, my name is FranJessca and I have a Book addiction Problem! LOL I think I have way too many books, what do you think? Should I just turn into a library. =) I'm not even done collecting books yet. =)
If you notice on the 4th shelf, I also have my Amazon Kindle, which has over 25 books now on it and I'm still not done (it can fit 1500 books on it). Once I collect a author's books, I tend to buy the paperbacks or hardbacks still...but if I find a new author with their new series, I buy them on my Kindle instead of by book. =) My hubby doesn't understand why I do that. LOL (For example, I have every book to the Anita Blake Series, LOTU Series, and Black Dagger Brotherhood Series)
My 3 shelf bookcase that I originally had, but I couldn't fit all my books in it. So I went ahead an got the 5 shelf bookcase and as you can tell, it's filled up and my 3 shelf one is about filled up too.
My Library in my Bedroom. I love having my books near me. =)

Book 87 "To Tempt the Wolf" by Terry Spear

Terry Spear, a new fave author of mine who is on my top 5 of favorite authors. Thank you for keeping me on the edge of my seat while reading your books. I loved reading "To Tempt the Wolf".
This book was about Tessa and Hunter. Hunter is a gray and Tessa is human. Yes, it seems strange at first that Terry Spear is writing about a werewolve who has fallen head over heals over a human, but once you get into the book, you learn why Hunter seems to be drawn to Tessa. You also find out that Tessa has other werewolves who are interested in her and Hunter wants to know why. I won't get into too much detail since I definitely don't want to ruin the book for people who haven't read it. I got to read about the characters Leidolf and Devlyn again. Leidolf was in the last two books I read and Devlyn was one of the main characters in "Heart of the Wolf". Yeah!!! We find out something about him in this book that is REALLY interesting. Why he ends up in this book...well...you'll have to read the book to find out.
It took me awhile to finish this book, since I was busy doing other things around the house on my off days from work. One of the reasons was catching the first seasons of "The Tudors" and "The Wire". I love those two shows.
Now what am I reading...."Skin Trade" by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's going to be the 17th book to the series and I have to finish this book in a hurry to read "Flirt" finally. It's the newest book that came out early this month. I just found out the author finished the 19th book to the series "Bullet", which will be coming out in June. I can't wait to read that book since I've been keeping up with Laurell K. Hamilton's blog. I really want to know which main squeeze of Anita's was killed. =( I really hope it's not Nathaniel or Jason. Those two are my fave's of Anita's lovers.
Well...I'm off to run errands now before I really start reading my next book. Hope everyone had an amazing 3 day weekend! I know I've enjoyed my days off from work. Back to work tomorrow for me.
XOXO,
FranJessca

Today is a ROUGH Day for me =(

I've been trying to keep myself busy. I've been trying to keep my mind off the one thing that has upset me for the past 6 years. I lost a VERY Special person in my life 6 years ago today. This day is one of the hardest days of the year for me. This was the day I lost my Grandfather to Lung Cancer. The most amazing person in my life, who always looked up to me. Who was so proud of me for joining the Navy because I was keeping the tradition going in the family. He would tell my father and mother, that I was his GIRL and no one else's. I remember going up to Maryland every weekend I could get the chance from 2002-2004 to visit him. He also would make the trip down from Maryland everytime I came back from deployment to see me come back in. He would take care of my 2002 Ford Focus SE whenever I went on deployment. He helped me get the car and believe me that day I bought my first car was a day I would never forget because I had him with me. My Grandfather helped me so much throughout the years he was here for me. Bowling has always been a special thing for me and him also. That is why it's tough to go bowling nowadays because it reminds me of him so much.
I miss him terribly. I've always had a hole in my heart ever since he passed away. Although, it got a little better and smaller near the end of 2004 when my Grandfather must of seen how torn up I was from missing him. He sent me an angel from heaven to help me. The same year I lost my Grandfather, was the same year I conceived my daughter. My Grandfather sent me the best miracle in the whole entire world. My daughter filled a little piece of that hole up. I wish my Grandfather could've met his Great Granddaughter. He would've loved her. I know he's up in heaven right now watching over us. He's seeing Alexia from up there and watching me too. He's our Guardian Angel. I will forever treasure the memories of us together. I will always remember when I wore my dress blues for you before you passed on. It was your dream to see me in my dress blues one last time, and I made sure that dream came true. I love you, Pop Pop! I will always love you!!!!!!!
Love always and forever your granddaughter,
FranJessca aka Frannie

CompTIA Security + Certified

Oh, yes..there are times when I love the Navy and today was one of those days. The Navy paid for me to take my CompTIA Security + Exam...which gets me certified in the field. It's a $258 exam usually if I would've had to pay for it. It's requirement for one of my NECs I have in the Navy to have this cert. (I went to the 2780 Network Security Vulnerablity Technician School back in January 2006-Febuary 2006 ) I'm so glad I have this Cert now because it's going on my Resume and it's going to be GREAT when I get out of the Navy in 2011. More job opportunities, and even way more money....
Now to work on getting my Network + Cert and Cisco and whatever else I might want to get before i get out. I love it!!!

Book 86 "Blood Noir" by Laurell K. Hamilton

OMG...I had a hard time putting down "Blood Noir" by Laurell K. Hamilton. This book just topped Danse Macabre in my opinion. I love JASON!! He is my 2nd fave character and Nathaniel is my first out of all of Anita's men that she has. Laurell K. Hamilton, you sure know how to get someone to not put down a book. I read this book so quickly, that I'm kind of upset because now I have to wait until "Skin Trade" comes in the mail. Ugh!!
From the first chapter, to the 56th chapter, I was literally on the edge of my seat reading this book. Anita, you poor woman, you always get caught up in the worst kind of situations.
I also HATE Richard even more in this book. If that man doesn't get a clue soon about how Anita is, I'm going into that book and ripping him a new one (if I was able to do that). Sometimes I forget it, it's a fiction book I'm reading and it's not real...but Laurell makes it feel real. It makes me crave to know more about the characters even more. I'm glad she wrote some more about Jason's life in this book and I got to experience what he had to deal with growing up. I have more respect for how he is now. I have to say at this moment, if there's one author out there that I really wanted to meet after Anne Rice....it would be Laurell K. Hamilton. I keep up with her blog that she writes and believe me this author definitely gets in to writing her books. I hope to be just like her. She definitely is one of my inspirations for having one of my dreams come true, of writing my own book(s). Laurell K. Hamilton, I can't wait to read "Skin Trade" once I get it from half.com and then I also can't wait to read "Flirt" which I already have on my book shelf in my room. It's just waiting for me to read it. =) Thank you for being an amazing author!!!!

Book 85 "Destiny of the Wolf" by Terry Spear

I just finished reading "Destiny of the Wolf" by Terry Spear and boy was it very YUMMY!!! =) I had a hard time putting this book down the last two days. I had to finish it. I would've finished it last night, but unfortunately my head was pounding and the sandman was calling me to bed. I finally finished it 30 minutes ago and I'm so glad I did. =) I loved this book! Another 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. =) Thank you Terry Spear for keeping me on the edge of my seat when I'm reading your books. I thought the killer was someone else, but you threw in a twist and I loved it.
This book was about Lelandi and Darien. Lelandi is a red wolve, who has come to Silver Town to find out her sister's murder and avenge her death. Darien is Lelandi's sister's widowed mate who loved Larissa dearly, he is also the Alpha Pack leader to the gray wolves in Silver Town.. He thought Larissa was his soulmate, until he meets Lelandi. He has dreams of a female and he believe's Lelandi is she. Lelandi ends up getting caught in the cross fire and several times she is almost killed. Darien then decides to protect her with his life. He knows is dreammate is Lelandi, but he wants to prove it to her. I would go into more details, but I'll give away too much. I think I gave away a little too much already. I fell in love with Darien because the way he is so caring and protective of his pack. I can't wait to read the next book "To Tempt the Wolf"...but unfortunately I'm going to put it on hold while I read "Blood Noir" next by Laurell K. Hamilton. I've been waiting for this book to come in the mail for a month now and I'm so excited to read it...because it puts me that closer to reading "Flirt" which is the latest release to the Anita Series. It came out February 2nd. I got it in the mail on the 4th. =)
So I'm off to finish cooking my wings before Superbowl starts. It's been a very fun day for me and my princess. I can't wait for the hubby to come home so we can enjoy some wings and root for the Saints. GEAUX SAINTS!!!

My Name defined:

Since my first name Franjessca isn't defined yet...I had to do two define searches since Fran and Jessca are separating defined: 3 versions of definitions for Fran: 1. Fran- The most incredible person someone could be friend with. Kind, caring, beautiful, everything else. Listens to you when your in need and will be there for you. Easily the most astounding and coolest girl a guy could meet. Anyone else notice all the positive definitions aboutt the name Fran? See, Fran, your awesome. :) 1:"Holy crap, you were with Fran last night?" 2: "Damn man your one lucky son of a bitch" 1: "Amen to that." 2: "I hear shes so cool." 1: "I hear shes cooler than you! Ooooh Dissed!" 2: *Tear* *tear* 2. Fran - a happy, optimistic but slightly ditzy and completely crazy person. 'I just met the happiest, most optimistic, but kinda ditzy and craziest person ever.' 'Aww, sounds like a Fran!' 3. Fran - the bestest friend sum 1 could ever have hunny your a star fran is to kwl for wrds wot would i do without fran And now the definition of Jessca: Jessca - A LAME girl who is one of the most gullible, yet sweetest chicks out there. She can make your day without even trying, and will embarrass the hell out of you if you do something gay.(aka sweet) You can talk to her without noticing that the sun has started to rise. Her smile and laugh is contagious. For some odd reason, without even trying, she tends to make one's heart beat faster, one's legs tremble, and one's mind race with anxiety. She'll make you do things you wouldn't normally do, and make one feel awkward in hopes that everything that comes out of one's mouth is perfect. There have been bumps in the road here and there, and even if one went back in time; before all the awkwardness, confusion, and embarrassment; without hesitation, "one" would do it all over again.

Book 84 "Heart of the Wolf" by Terry Spear

"Heart of the Wolf" by Terry Spear, another Very Yummy Book that I finished this morning while waiting for my Doctor's appointment begin. I only 1 1/2 chapters to go so I didn't have much to read. I had a hard time putting the book down last night, but for course my husband made me. Terry Spear has become another one of my fave authors. She is on my top 5 now. Every chapter had a GREAT scene in it. I loved the characters Bella and Devyln. I also loved Bella's neighbor, Chrissie. The way Terry Spear described everything made me understand wolves better and how they actually are.
This book was about Bella who had ran away from the gray pack because the gray pack leader, Volan wanted her to be his mate, but she didn't want to be with him. Ever since she was little and saved from a fire by Devyln, she had been in love with him. Devyln is the 2nd in charge of the pack so he wasn't supposed to go after the pack leader's supposed mate or he would've been killed. He has to find away to kill Volan and also save Bella from the red wolves where she resided so many years hidden from Volan. She thought she would never see her kind again, until a killer is on the loose killing red heads. It's up to her and Devyln to find out who and also find out if they can be together someway without either of them getting killed.
I can't wait to read the next book in Terry Spear's Wolf Urban Fantasy Romance Series...."Destiny of the Wolf." I'll begin it tonight or maybe even tomorrow before class starts. I can't wait!
I give "Heart of the Wolf" definitely 5 stars and two thumbs up!!! =)

Snow Day in Virginia Beach~~~January 30, 2010

Just thought a share some photos from our Snow day here in Virginia Beach. I still can't believe it actually snowed here in Va Beach. I remember 5 years ago, when I was pregnant with my Princess that it really snowed. This is the first time Alexia got to actually see and play in snow and she had a BLAST! Can't you tell? =) We even had a snowball fight and built a snowman. This Mommy still though prefers hot weather, with the sun shining and swimming all year around...which is why I can't wait to move back to Florida. =)

I love Reading!!! =)

I have found a few more authors to add to my list of favorites. Right now I'm reading "Heart of the Wolf" by Terry Spear. I'm having a hard time putting down this book. Terry Spear, sure knows how to pull you into the book and make you feel like your there. I love how she knows wolves. I go to her blog everyday when she posts a new blog post and shares photos of actual wolves. I've had a fascination of wolves since I was little. I think their beautiful creatures. I would love to see them in the wild so I could take photos of them, but I would have to move to the midwest and even further than that to get close to the ones I would take photos of.
My other authors that I love now that I've read some of their books; Lauren Kate, Maggie Stiefvater, and Carrie Jones. I would love to meet them all and talk to them. Each author inspires me to write even more. I'm thinking about taking Creative Writing classes to better my style a little more and learn more about writing. I've been writing for awhile, but I never share anything. I've always had a vivid imagination and always thought of stories to write, but I've never had a chance to write any of it down, until now. Now that I have time to take my writing seriously and have my husband to inspire me more....I've taken it more into thought what I love to do; Photography, Writing and Computers. Three things put together that magically come together to help me in each. I'm more of a Nature and PhotoJournalistic Photographer nowadays. I love capturing photos of my daughter, when she at least expects it. I love capturing photos of my Cane Corso in action. I write down things that happen daily to inspire more to write. Computers...because I know how to fix it and I definitely know the ins and outs of how a computer works. I've been fascinated with computers since my Dad bought me, my first one. Computers will always become better and better and I love it. =)
I can't wait to put all 3 of my interests together into one. =) I'll be out of the Navy in 17 months and believe me I love counting down to my FREEDOM! =)
So until now...I'm learning from the web, what I need to do to become a writer full time. Maybe soon, I'll share some of my stories that I have going on right now. I have two right now that I've been working on...I've put them off for awhile because I've been working lots of hours and now I'm in a classroom environment. I'll have more time to devote to my stories once Spring time rolls around.
I can't wait!! =)
Hope everyone is enjoying their Monday. I'm snowed in still...well actually iced in. Can't wait to go back to class tomorrow.
XOXO,
