Seriously, I should've made a bet with one of my co-workers at work. I told some of my co-workers I could finish a 158 page book within a few hours and I did. =) I love being a FAST reader because it gets me closer to my goal. I love it!!
I just finished reading the lastest book to the Anita Blake Series..."Flirt" by Laurell K. Hamilton. The author even explained how this book came about and where she usually gets her ideas from. Laurell K. Hamilton, you are an inspiration to my writing. I can't wait to read your other series about Meredith Gentry. =) I'm so looking forward to the 19th novel to the Anita Blake Series with is due out in June..."Bullet". I'm not looking forward to though who gets killed in it. Please don't let it be Nathaniel or Jason. I love them both dearly. I'm a little attached to Micah, Anita's other lover that lives with her...but not as much as Nathaniel and Jason. Both of them make me keep reading the books. =) I also adore Jean-Claude. He is really fascinating to me and I really want to know more about him.
So what did I think about "Flirt"...I think it was an amazing book. It was short, but VERY well done!! Anita got introduced to two different dilemmas in the book. I about cried in certain parts of the book because I don't know how Anita could handle it...I wouldn't of been able to. How are you going to protect the ones you love when you've just been kidnapped and you have to obey what the kidnappers say? Every little move could bring the death to one of your loved ones. This book is mostly about the dilemma that Mr. Tony Bennington brings to Anita table. What a heartless man he is. Only caring about himself and what he wants. I could've gone in the book and ripped his throat out. 'I think I may be turning into Anita or even one her friends...a little too much...LOL". What can I say, I've been reading this series since October of last year and I love the characters to these books. I even tend to dream about Anita Blake's world.
Laurell K. Hamilton...I'm so glad you wrote this book. I'm sorry it put a bind on your latest Meredith Gentry book that you were trying to write, but "Flirt" came to mind. Now I know the secret why you were able to do it though and focus on the writings on both the books. ***Music*** is the key. I've read other authors blogs and found out that music can help a writer help.
Now I'm on to deciding what book I need to read next, since I won't get my next Anita Blake fix until June. =( What am I going to do until then? I'm going to pondering over what's going to happen next to Anita Blake, her loves, and her friends.
Oh well, until then...I'm diving back into my Kindle. I've decided I'll read two books from there...whichever keeps my attention most, I'll finish. If the other book doesn't, I'll stop reading it. I decided "Hush Hush" and "The Lightning Thief" will be the books of choice. We'll see which one I finish and which one doesn't add up. I don't think I'm going to like "The Lightning Thief" because it's too much like what "Harry Potter" was too me. I couldn't even read Harry Potter. We'll see though...I have my heart on "Hush Hush".
Onward to reading...but first getting ready to head out the door to one of many doctor appointments for me. Let's hope I finally find out the verdict to my right knee and right femur.
Surgery in the future....most likely.
Have a GREAT day everyone!!
XOXO,
FranJessca
