Book 97 "Dark Needs at Night's Edge" by Kresley Cole

Okay, it's been awhile since I finished another book. I've been slacking, but now I only have 3 more books until I reach my goal and then I really can start slowing down a bit since Photography season has started up again for me. =)
So what did I finish now..."Dark Needs at Night's Edge" by Kresley Cole. I was reading Stargazer for a bit, but then stopped once I realized I missed the Immortal After Dark Series.
This book made me cry. I love Neomi and Conrad. Both of these characters are perfect for each other. The title of the book says it all about Conrad. Conrad is a Vampire...and is also known as a Fallen Vampire...which everyone fears. He has red eyes and kills for a living. Neomi is a prima-ballerina...or used to be one at least...until she was brutally murdered in her home 80 years ago to a ex-fiance. Neomi is a ghost in her home now and Conrad is imprisoned there by his 3 other brothers. Conrad hates his brothers, especially Nikolai and Murdoch who changed him to his Vampire self. Once Conrad meets Neomi though, he starts changing. He doesn't know if it's Neomi or just being imprisoned. He wants Neomi to be a human again so he knows for sure. Neomi has fallen in love with Conrad the minute he steps foot in her house and his chained up. She is fascinated with him and his brothers.
I won't say anymore about the story because I ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it yet. I loved this book because it made me cry. The horrors that both of them have been put through and still have to go through...makes them stronger and perfect for each other. I have to say this is my favorite book in the Immortal After Dark Series so far. I can't wait to read the next...but I think I'm going to read more of Stargazer and hopefully finish it by the end of this week, if I can. I have 3 more books now to reach my goal of 100. I wonder how many books I'll be finished reading by the end of this year. Next month though, I have to buy 6-8 new books from series I've already been reading. I can't wait until Burned is out the end of next month. =)
Now to enjoy the rest of this beautiful Tuesday.

Book 96 "Evernight" by Claudia Gray

I am offically 4 books away from my goal. Wahoo!!
I just finished reading "Evernight" by Claudia Gray. It's a YA book and I needed a break from the Immortal After Dark Series. It was time for something different and believe me this was something different. It's about Bianca and Lucas. Bianca is attending Evernight Academy and she doesn't feel like she fits in there so when she tries to run away, she runs into Lucas who will be attending the Academy also. She falls for Lucas the moment she meets him. The only thing is, is that both Bianca and Lucas are keeping secrets from each other...it could tear them apart or keep them together forever. I won't go into the details of the book because I'll give away the book too much. I enjoyed getting away from the adult paranormal romance for awhile. I wanted a book that I knew I quickly read. I tend to savor my adult romance books more it seems. LOL =) What can I say I enjoy some of the scenes in the books.
So onto the next book in the Evernight Series....I'll let you know how it is in the next few days. Although, it may take me awhile since I start back working tomorrow night. I also plan on reading another Immortal After Dark Series while I'm working. We'll see which book I can finish first. Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend.

Book 95 "Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night" by Kresley Cole

Yeah...I finished a book in a reasonable time this time because I was determined not to finish a book in a week again. That is just too long for me. I enjoy finishing books in a short amount of time. Now I am 5 books away from my goal: 100 books. Once I hit my goal, I'll start slowing down a bit...hopefully. =) So the book I finished was "Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night" by Kresley Cole. I was kind of disappointed in this book a bit. Maybe I just didn't like certain parts of the book. It didn't have much scenes in it that was exciting like the rest of the books I've read. I loved the characters Mariketa the Awaited. Her goals were first to her, she didn't want to have a distraction in her life just yet...but here comes Bowen from the Lykae Clan. He has been drepressed for amost two centuries since he supposedly lost his mate...but now he is starting to think Mariketa could be his mate reincarted. He falls for Mariketa the first time he sees her and Mariketa also feels something for Bowen, but tries to hide it at first. Mariketa is having to deal with too much in her life so she tries everything to get Bowen to leave her alone. She's a Mortal witch who is hopefully going to turn into a Immortal soon. She is going to be one powerful witch once she fully grows into her powers. Her Coven is trying to help her out...but of course Bowen is not liking the fact Mariketa is a witch anyways because he has been against them for years, but in the book, he will find away to accept Mariketa for who she is.
I'm taking a break from the Immortals After Dark Series for a bit since I just received some new books in yesterday from Barnes and Noble. These books have been on my list for "Books I've been looking forward to" for awhile and I just can't wait to read them. Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend.

Book 94 "No Rest for the Wicked" by Kresley Cole

Okay, yes I realize it has taken me awhile to finish this book...."No Rest for the Wicked" by Kresley Cole...but life has been busy for me. I really enjoyed this book, but it did take awhile to finish it because I didn't get a chance to read it everyday. =( I have reading withdrawals whenever I can't read...and believe me I think I was getting mad about not finishing this book in a timely manner that I'm used to. Longer than a week, is not acceptable to me at all. Well, I'll get over it since I'll hopefully have more time to finish my next book that I plan on reading. I better, otherwise, someone will feel the wrath of me.
This book was about Sebastian Wroth (Vampire) and Kaderin the Cold Hearted (Valkyrie). If you remember from Playing Easy to Get, there was a story of Nikolai Wroth...well, Sebastian is Nikolai's brother. Sebastian has been not himself since he was turned vampire along time ago, until he meets his Bride Kaderin. He goes through so many obstacles with Kaderin, I don't know even why he bothered with her. Kaderin has felt anything since her two sisters died...until she meets Sebastian and she starts feeling again. Kaderin is too busy trying to win the Hie again and Sebastian will do anything to help her and also win her over. I ended up crying at the end because Kaderin ends up going through the biggest ordeal ever. I won't tell you what because I definitely don't want to ruin the ending. This book has some AMAZING scenes in it...that I had to go back and read a few more times. =) I love how Kresley Cole wrote this book. Maybe it was a good thing I didn't finish it so fast...because I got to enjoy it a little more.
On to my next book probably after work this evening. It's back to work for me...and I'm actually looking forward to it. My co-workers are the most amazing people to work with.
XOXO,

Book 93 "A Hunger Like No Other" by Kresley Cole

Just finished reading "A Hunger Like No Other" by Kresley Cole and what a VERY Yummy book it was. =) Thank you, Kresley Cole for being yet another amazing author who I will be following from now on. Thank you to Gena Showalter (one of my FAVE authors) for letting me know about Kresley Cole. I love Kresley Cole's book series The Immortals After Dark Series. It has some Scottish characters in it. Yum! The first book...or should I say 2nd book since Playing Easy to Get had the first story to the series...is about Lachlain, who is a werewolf and he's is Scottish. ***I'm married to a half-Scottish Man*** =) And Emmaline who is half-Valkyrie and half-Vampire. Lachlain has been locked away and tortured for 15 decades ends up smelling his Mate...yes..I said smelling and gets free to find her. He is torn though at first because his mate is half-vampire and vampires are the ones who locked him away to be tortured by fire. Emmaline is a timid woman and is trying to find out about her father who is/was a Vampire and her Mother was Valkyrie. I won't get into any more detail about the book...but just to tell you how yummy and enthralled I was with reading this book. It took me 3 days, but that's because I was so busy doing other things, I had to make time to read this book and once I started reading it, I had a hard time putting it down. My daughter had to pry it from me last night so I could go to bed. =)
So now I'm moving on to the next book to the series and I can't wait! I may just start reading it tonight before I go to bed. Although, I'm beyond exhausted, I always make time to at least read 5 chapters.
I definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves Paranormal Romance. I love this Genre of books. =)

Book 92 "Playing Easy to Get" by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jaid Black, & Kresley Cole

Okay, let me tell you, I read Kresley Cole's story first in this book because I'm moving on to her series first...Immortals After Dark. One of my favorite authors adores Kresley Cole so I thought I read her books to see how she is and believe me Kresley Cole is an AMAZING Author. If you remember back last year I received "Deep Kiss of Winter" in the mail with both Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole's signatures in it. I hadn't had a chance to read the book because I wanted to read Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark from the very beginning. At the time I was reading Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series so I didn't have time to read anything written by Kresley Cole. Now I'm officially moved onto Kresley Cole's books. Wahoo!! So the first book is a anthrology with other authors, "Playing Easy to Get". I'll move onto Kresley Cole's story first which is: "The Warlord Wants Forever". This story is the 3rd story in the book. My husband of course thought I finished the book in one day, but I didn't. I just chose to read the last story first. =) I loved how Kresley started off explaining how Valkyrie came about first and then jumped into the characters story. It then leaded into the next book that Kresley wrote, which I'm beginning to read now. I won't get into detail about the story because I'll give away some parts. I have to say Kresley has become another author I'll be following from now on. =) Onto the other stories in the book: Sherrilyn Kenyon is the first author in the book and I have some of her books already, but I have aways to go to collect everything she has wrote. Her story in the book was "Turn Up the Heat" which was really YUMMY! =) It's the story about ex-Mafia Vince and a country girl Allison. Allison always thought good things wouldn't come to her until she won a contest and met the love of her life Vince. It's a story about Sherrilyn Kenyon's series B.A.D Series, which I can't wait to get into later on. The last story I read was from Jaid Black "Hunter's Oath" which is from Jaid Black's Viking Series. That was yet another Yummy story, which went into a little more details, if you know what I mean. =) All 3 authors have become a part of my favorites now and I can't wait to read all their series. =) Thanks to Gena Showalter for already liking Kresley Cole's stories and now I can read the other two authors too. Sorry I didn't discuss much about the stories...but I will give too much away. I enjoyed this anthrology and can't wait to read more books like it in the future. =) The title explains it all on what the stories are about that is all you need to know....Playing easy to get. =) Onto my next book....which is written by Kresley Cole. I'm getting close to my goal which means I'll be able to slow down my reading to do other things. Spring time is almost here which means Photography will be back in business. I can't wait!!
