Book 88 "Skin Trade" by Laurell K. Hamilton

I'm just so excited, I can't hide it. =) I finally, finished reading the 17th book to the Anita Blake Series. Now I can move on to the latest book that the author brought out the beginning of this month.
I just finally finished reading "Skin Trade" by Laurell K. Hamilton. I'm so glad I'm done with this book. It was over 486 pages and I'm the happiest woman ever right now. I get to read "Flirt" which is the 18th book to the series and it puts me up to my goal of where I want to be around this time too. Once I read up to 100 books before May, I'm going to start slowing down on reading. I have way too much going on around June and July this year so I won't have much time to read. =( I will most likely have book relapse issues.
So let me go into a little bit detail about what I thought about "Skin Trade". I actually wouldn't rate this book one of my favorites from the series. I'm actually going to rate this book about my 15th favorite of the series. Remember there's 18 books total to the series and I haven't read the 18th one yet. This book didn't have much of it's bang like the rest of them. My most favorite right now is Danse Macabre and 2nd favorite is Blood Noir.
Anita Blake is sent to Las Vegas to solve a paranormal crime caused by Vittorio (The Father of Day), whom we first found out about in "The Harlequin". Anita Blake has to leave behind her loved ones so she can solve this crime. Her Lover, and Master Jean-Claude isn't very happy that she goes alone. She ends up meeting with her fellow Marshall friends, Edward, Olaf and Bernardo. Anita is thrown into a mess with the were-tigers, Master of the City-Las Vegas and his wife and even the city police/detectives. Anita also finds out something new about what is going on with her and why she seems to be falling apart. Anita is also bothered by the "Mother of All Darkness".
I won't get into much detail about the book since I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it. It's not my favorite book, but I did learn a little bit about certain characters....like Olaf...that I really wanted to know about. I'm really curious now to get the Comic Books to the Anita Blake Series so I could learn more about Anita Blake before Guilty Pleasures.
So now I'm onto "Flirt"....I'm so looking forward to reading this book. Once I read this though, I'll have to wait until June when the 19th book comes out. Laurell K. Hamilton, I really hope you didn't kill one of my fave characters in the newest book that you're bringing out. I love Nathaniel and Jason. They will forever be my favorites. I will be totally devastated if one of them is no longer in the series. =(
Onward to my new book. I'll probably finish it in one day. =) It's less than 200 pages.
XOXO,
FranJessca
