I thought I post about something out of the ordinary for me, but I've had a lot of compliments lately about the way I look. My husband wanted me to look at photos of me in the past and I usually don't go into the past...but I had to look to see. Two years ago, I was only 110 lbs...close to my original weight when I joined the Navy and I was 17 years old. Eek!!! I looked awful at 110 lbs. Now here it is I may have some people out there who are hating because I have a fast metabolism. It runs in my family though. My grandfather on my father's side was skinny and my Great Uncle on my father's side is skinny too. I've been blessed with their fast metabolism. It also helps that I don't eat alot of junk food and I eat a balance diet. I also exercise regularly being in the Navy. Let's just say I'm happy with my results, after two years I'm back to my original weight...130 lbs. Yes!! It also helps when you have surgery and you are limited on what you do as far as exercising. Now I'm back to my weight, and now what am I going to do. Well...I'm not gaining and I'm not wanting to lose so I'm going to maintain. I also want to tone up a little bit more.
Okay...let's get this straight 110 lbs at my height is not a healthy weight as per my favorite trainer's site. 125-140 lbs is the healthy weight for my height. So why was I 110 lbs two years ago. Well, let's go back even further. In 2005 I had my daughter. My max weight when I was pregnant with her was 140 lbs. When I had her it took me just a month or two to get down to120 lbs. Then in 2006 I went to C School and went down even further to 115 lbs when I was exercising 3 times a week with my instructors and they were kicking our butt. It also didn't help when I didn't have a appetite after I had my daughter. I'm blessed to be one of those Moms who can lose all their weight after being pregnant. Comes from my Mom's genes, I guess since she was able to lose her weight too. Moving on though, in the beginning of 2008 I was put into Recruiting duty which then everything went even down hill further. I wasn't eating right or not at all and I was stressing all the time trying to put someone in the Navy. My health wasn't great so they pulled me out of Recruting. It didn't help also when I'm anemic also. In 2009 I got stationed back in my rating and went to school and exercised back to my routine schedule and started eating better....because my Hubby made me. =) I love him so much! Then in Fall of '09 I noticed my weight was coming back and of course I was not stressed out. Then this Fall I got weighed again and found out I'm 130 lbs. HELL YEAH!! Now you think I'm crazy...LOL. I'm one of the first women you probably know who wanted to gain weight and tone while doing it. Well, I've been skinny my whole entire life. In 3rd grade I was less than 40 lbs and I had a hard time gaining, but I was eating all the time.
Now though my goal for next year is to tone up even more, maintain my weight and eat even healthier. I had my physical done this year because it's required every year in the Navy. My chlorestoral is good, my blood pressure is good, everything is GREAT. My hubby is wondering how I do it. Well, maybe if he ate more vegetables and fruits and laid of the junk food and processed foods and such, he wouldn't be worried about his health right now. Men, they can be really difficult at times.
Now let's see if I can maintain my weight for the next year and not lose weight. Although, I won't be worried about that next year since we have something in the works even more better for next year. =)
Now that I'm able to exercise regularly again, let's hope my exercise routine doesn't make me lose, but helps me tone. As long as I maintain my usual calorie intake for my weight and also exercise 3-5 times a week depending on how I feel since right now my sinuses are acting up. Grr!! Darn weather changing from 70s to 40s and back to 60s. My nose can't handle it, mother nature!!
Enough on my babbling...I just wanted to show you what I did to get back to my healthy self. 110 lbs is not healthy for someone who is 5'4". I got asked if I was aneroxic all the time and I wasn't. I just was stressed and not able to keep anything down...Now that I'm healthy looking I'm going to do everything in my power to maintain it and look even better for 2011 Summer. If not then 2012 summer...because you never know...next year may bring something that has been overdue for awhile. =)
Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend...I'm off to get ready for Katie and Nick's Portrait Session at the Oceanfront. =) Looking forward to taking their photos.
